By only harvesting the oldest animals, Spain’s ibex population is flourishing and providing real revenue to continue conservation efforts

Eye of the Hunter Spanish Peaks: Episode 5

In part five of Eye of the Hunter: Spanish Peaks: after successful management hunts for chamois for Tom and Olivia, Tom and guide Bruno Rosich head out for a trophy Ibex. By removing only the oldest and biggest ibex, Spanish game managers have been able to keep the Ibex population healthy. The healthy population of trophy animals helps boost the local economy by bringing in hunters.

In part four of Eye of the Hunter Spanish Peaks, above 6,000 feet in the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain, Olivia and guide Bruno Rosich have located a perfect management chamois. Now the trick will be to get close enough for a good shot. Well-regulated chamois hunting in Spain has resulted in both a boost to local economy and a healthy thriving chamois population.

He got lucky and got 4 of them at $1,350 each, as part of the GunBroker.com Gold Deal of the Day.

Not long after, he saw the first re-listing of this Decommissioned 1911 Colt for $3,500, and it sold! Talk about a quick increase in value. That’s due to the fact that these pistols are so collectible, so rare and so desirable by military collectors, the price increased fast and it probably won’t be decreasing any time soon.
